JUST A WEEKEND BEFORE THE SED 2.0 DEADLINE
CATIA is love.
CATIA is life.
Sorry. Brain.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. As you can guess from the date, we’re even closer to the SED deadline, and that means much sanity is being lost through the whole IRIS team. Now only coffee, coke and instant noodles (おいしい!) can keep us working at peak efficiency.
The mechanical department and the thermal design have finally signed the peace after a long war involving Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computer Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software. This department is now focusing its resources into stress & vibration simulations and creating the final Computer-Aided Design (CAD) model of our experiment in CATIA, while the electrical department spends their last reserves of patience and time to provide them with the necessary details about the electronic components.
Meanwhile, the optics department is doing their best to have a final design for the optics needed for the photodiodes. Software is working hard on designing the data management (nice data you have there, it would be a shame if something happened to it…). The science department is keeping an intense training on data analysis models, while our team members in the economics department are pulling their hair out trying to keep everything within the budget… good thing they don’t hesitate on advertising our Kickstarter campaign to our university colleagues and teachers! Last but not least, our project manager considers if we’re fired or not.
Despite this madness, we’re confident we can do a good work for this deadline, in time. Next Friday we’ll let you know how it went!
