With a week and change left to the deadline of SED v3.0 the team is working from all the corners of the world*. The more fun and interesting part is that the assembly of the full experiment is getting closer. This means that every part of the experiment has to be tinkered with.
There are things to mount, things to screw, things to code, still numbers to crunch.
The current workload of the software department is roughly distributed twofold:
● Trying to modify the well known dessert: Raspberry pi(e) by adding such ingredients as camera and, everybody's favourite, GPS to make it juicy.
● Making sure the Arduinos' accept samples from the sensors and relay the data to the Rpi.
All for the benefit of our talented science peeps, to make sure the experiment is fruitful.
By the end of July, the experiment should be roughly ready and mounted or very nearly finished with a clear path to the finish. Interdepartmental work will be important the next coming weeks, and the isolated work of each department will be put together into one giant pile of awesome.
Send a prayer to the god of engineering & science that everythings works well. You'll hear from us soon again!
